The Gauntlet

The Gauntlet - Home to some of the most vicious, adrenaline-pumping fights and struggles ever seen. There's never any guaranteed survivors, but there's a record for the amount of rounds won before bowing out to Muerte and allowing fate to take its toll: 97 rounds.

(yeeeeeeee, ok let's start)

The 3 fighters - Lily, Xavior and Agent 64 - Were all stationed in a small room with... not really all that much inside. They only had a couple of sofas to share between them, with a coffee table, a coffee machine and the television on the wall.

The white rabbit was sat down on the sofa facing the TV, watching the current fight that was going on inside the arena: Two gladiator beings that looked like they were on their last breath each.
"They're both at their ends here! I think we'll have a victor any moment now!" The commentator certainly sounded enthusiastic about seeing someone getting killed.

(Quick question, are they forced to do this and some of them end up liking it, like Ratchet: Deadlocked, or is this voluntary?)

(It's like Ratchet Deadlock - The fighters are captured, it's been about a week or so since they've been in custody but they're absolutely forced to fight all the way through until either they die or they get to the end.)

(sweet! I loved that game!)

Xavior sat on the couch, frowning at the TV. "This is sick! Why would anyone enjoy watching this?!"

(Never seen it :C Also are our people fighting with each other or against at some point?)

Agent 64

I was to focussed on my task to pay full attention to the screen. "496.. 497.. 498 499.. 500.." I finished up my push ups and then stood up slowly and glanced at the screen.

One of the gladiators suddenly slammed the other to the ground with their shield, thrusting a huge spear right through the helmet of the other and instantly killing him. The crowd roared with cheers and celebrations, watching as the victor put his boot to the head of the deceased fighter and took his spear out.
"OHH! What a way to finish!" The commentator was just as excited as the crowd himself.

"Oooooh... that didn't look good." Lily winced, with an odd sense of confidence behind her. She didn't want to focus on the action, so she turned her attention to the only two other people in the room with her: The Agent and Xavior.
"I reckon we'll be fighting together... well, I hope so at least," She started, breaking the silence. "I wouldn't be ok with having my killers in the same room as me." She joked, clearly not underestimating either one of the two, which also meant that she had confidence in them.
"So what're your names?"

"Xavior," he mumbled and crossed his arms.

Agent 64

I kept my eyes on the screen watching the brutal finisher and shook my head, then turned to the person who spoke. Eyeing them over then glancing at the other I spoke. "Agent 64"

"Well, I'm Lily. Pleased to meet you both..." She looked back round at the TV. They were gonna be on there any minute now. She could tell. "... For now..." She whispered to herself.

"Alright everyone! It's THAT TIME OF THE SEASON! You all know what's coming up next..." The crowd suddenly erupted with a voracious cheer, everyone vividly standing up in their seats, sounding horns, banging drums... it was a huge noise that intimidated Lily a little bit. "IT'S TIME FOR OUR MAGMA-GAUNTLET!"

"... Magma what?"

"Our 3 captiv--... uh, "volunteers", must survive every round of the gauntlet. They'll be fighting against a huge variety of gladiators, all of which will employ different tactics AAAAND be just as dangerous as the last. We've managed to find a TON of combatants to slice down our "volunteers", so expect the action to be both fast, thrilling and captivating! Unless you're squeamish in which case keep a barf bag nearby at alllllll times!"

The doors opened nearby them. There was a woman in uniform, accompanied by guards who looked average, but carried weapons that were definitely a danger.

"Follow me."

"Here we go.." Xavior mumbled, keeping his head down as he followed the guards.

Agent 64

I turned to face the door, and eyed the guards and the woman over. "I could probably take them but I'm not gonna risk it.. Sighing I followed them.

(Dan, I think it's your turn)

"Heeeere we go..." Lily mumbled to herself as she followed. The lady swiftly spun round once they were all close enough, letting the other guards walk alongside the three whilst a couple walked behind whoever was last in the party.

They were quickly guided to a room completely full of various gadgets, items and other sorts of weaponry that looked like it was mainly used for when there was a critical situation.
"We've given you your own "weapons" with whatever else you wanna carry around with you," The lady began to talk in her stern, authoritative tone. "But do be aware that we're pitting you against enemies that'll quite likely mince you into nothing but the shit you already are." ... It wasn't a comment which fazed Lily at all.
"M'k then." She just shrugged, only to recieve a fairly cold glance from the uniformed lady. "We'd normally give you things here but since we're under strict orders not to allow any of you any more assistance/support, you're on your own."

... Seemed a bit pointless.

"Now then... through here." She escorted them through a particularly large doorway which led into the waiting room: A rather spacious, empty and dark area which was right in front of a massively large and heavy door. You could hear the crowd in the arena from the other side and even the slight vibration of them stomping their feet, jumping up and down, whatever it was they were doing.
"It'll only be a few moments until they let you in..." The lady swiftly turned round, walking to the door. "Try not to die." She taunted, before slamming the door behind her and leaving the guards in the same room as them. None of them raised their weapons at them, they just stood there in order, making sure they didn't do anything stupid for the moment.

"..." Lily just remained silent, although she had to admit that she was pretty nervous and a little frightened.

Xavior looked at the guards, contemplating whether or not he should attempt to overpower them.

Agent 64

I followed through eyeing everything that was available before being lead into the waiting room. Crossing my arms I watched to woman leave. Folding my arms I chuckled. "Not before you do bitch.." I mutter. Eyeing the guards over I contemplate my tactics.
