Sonic: The Apocalypse

Dex

"Gah!" I fell down slamming into the ground, dust flying up everywhere.

Klarc suffered a couple of shots to his hip and one to his arm - He briefly yelped in pain, and quickly pulled himself out of the firing range ASAP. He was already hurt badly and behind his cover, he had a look at his wounds...
"Uuugh... damn it!" He snarled at himself for being so careless. He wanted to hit the wall, but that wouldn't have helped at all. Instead, he stayed focus, listening in to what was going on around the corner.

The soldier stood over Dex and opened fire with his assault rifle.

King fired at the hand holding the gun as he ran to cover, but he missed every shot as it was such a small target and he wasn't standing still.  King looked to his left across the corridor to see that Klarc was wounded.  "You okay?" he mouthed.

Klarc ignored him, considering how much pain he was trying to disguise... he took a peek round the corner, ever so slightly edging his head around the wall to see where the enemy was.

Dex

I suddenly teleported away and behind the cover I had been behind previously. I rubbed my face and saw some blood.

The soldiers motioned towards the hallway. They hid behind cover as two of them pressed themselves against the wall, approaching the hall.

A clacking was heard and King's eyes grew wide as he saw a grenade bounce down the highway. He squeezed his eyes tightly shut and pressed himself against the wall. He opened his eyes a few seconds later when he heard a hissing sound. A thick grey smoke was being emitted from the grenade on the floor.

Klarc saw the smoke straight away... instead of shying away from it, he breathed in deeply, then held his breath. He waited for the smoke to start to thicken up a bit, remaining perfectly still in the process.

Dex

Spitting some of the blood that was in my mouth I stood up and vaulted over the wall. "That ticked me off.." I rose my arm up to my side so my hand, in a claw like pose, was by my face, palm outwards. I pulled it back slightly and then thrust forwards and down flinging a large wave of a Telekinetic blast towards the soldier.

The soldier yelled as he was thrown backwards. He slammed into the wall and flew right through it, sending pieces of the wall and dust into the air. The other soldiers turned towards Dex and opened fire.

Footsteps could be heard as the F.O.X. soldiers started walking through the smoke, nearing King and Klarc.

Klarc remained perfectly quiet, still staying behind the wall as he tuned his hearing... he could almost make out where they were, but the smoke was interfering and he wasn't 100% sure on when to strike. He kept his weapon ready.

Dex

"Why didn't I do this earlier..?" I rose my hand and stopped the incoming fire, the bullets slowing down and then freezing in mid air. I raised an eyebrow and smirked.

One of the soldiers threw a grenade at Dex, hoping it would stop and blow up in his face.

A F.O.X. soldier came into King's field of vision, just a few feet in front of him. King opened fire on the soldier, causing a scream to erupt from the soldier's throat and his own face to get covered with the soldier's blood.

Another F.O.X soldier came close to Klarc. He appeared from round the corner quickly, thrusting the knife toward his throat whilst going to grab his head under his other arm.

Dex

I laughed and flicked my wrist, sending the hail of bullets and grenade flying back towards the group of soldiers.

"... you hear that?"
"..."
... Through the silence in the desert, there was the cracks of gunfire. They could be heard, but they sounded way, way off in the distance. "Could that be him?"
"I'm not sure, but they're not get'n' him before we do."
"Yeah... let's move. Quick."

The knife went straight through the soldier's neck, who let out a groan of pain and surprise.

"Hit the floor!" came a yell from inside the group of soldiers before they all threw themselves to the floor behind cover. A loud boom erupted near the front doors, followed by a high pitch squeal and silence. One of the soldiers looked around, still disoriented, and saw a gaping hole in the wall and chunks of plaster all over the ground. Blood and scorched remains of a couple soldiers decorated the parts of the room that were still standing.

An explosion was heard from the middle of the hospital. A group of F.O.X. soldiers charged in through the gaping hole in the wall and split into two groups, one heading towards the patient rooms, and the other group heading to the room full of medical supplies.

Klarc threw the soldier aside as he spun round, just before he was rocked by the explosion nearby.
"What in the--?!" He chose to hide behind cover again, going into his backpack to see what else he could use for now...

Dex

I turned around hearing the explosions and various gunfire in the distance." Dammit!" Thinking quickly I summoned about ten of my soldiers beside me telling them to cover the area. With that I ran back inside.

The smoke slowly started to get thinner and thinner, allowing King and Klarc to see a little bit farther in front of them. King peeked around the corner and saw three F.O.X. soldiers slowly approaching his hiding spot. He aimed his gun around the corner and opened fire. Screams could barely be heard over the gunfire.

An all out gunfight broke out between the F.O.X. soldiers and the summoned soldiers. The F.O.X. soldiers quickly downed 2 of the summoned soldiers, not before losing one of their own soldiers, though.

Dex

I came to a slow walk as I made my way through the smoke. In the distance I could hear gunfire. From who or what I did not know but I'd find out eventually. Drawing my gun and raising it I ventured forth.

Klarc turned back round from cover quickly. With all his force and brutality, he chucked his knife as hard as he could toward the F.O.X soldier nearest his position, aiming directly for the head as the knife partially propelled the smoke aside.

The knife went straight into the F.O.X. soldier's eye, sending him backwards to the ground. "Ouch!" King exclaimed under his breath.

The F.O.X. soldiers at the entrance chucked a grenade into a midst of summoned soldiers. They ducked behind cover just as it exploded, killing three more summoned soldiers.

The first group of F.O.X. soldiers quickly made it to the patient rooms. They started unplugging the monitors and taking anything they could use. One of the soldiers noticed Dex walking down the hallway and snuck behind him. He wrapped his arm around Dex's neck and started choking him as he pulled out a knife and thrust it towards Dex's left side.

The second group of F.O.X. soldiers reached the drug room* and kicked in the door. They pulled out bags and started loading up all the medicine they could hold.

(*What is the room called in a hospital that holds all of the medicine? Or is it just like a cabinet or what?)

Dex

I felt someone wrap their arm around my neck and I frowned as they tried to choke me. With one arm grabbing the attackers knife arm and then other going over my shoulder to grab his back I brought it forward to hurl him off me.

"C'mon," Klarc continued on. He put a boot on top of the soldier's face before grabbing the knife and yanking it out, watching a bit of blood splurt out. He retreated back a little bit, listening once again for anything near himself and King.

King didn't hear anything further ahead. "Let's go!" He said as he ran backwards towards the source of the earlier explosion.

The F.O.X. soldiers came out of cover and opened fire on the remaining summons. Their bullets quickly tore apart three of the summons. The remaining summons dove behind cover while firing at the other soldiers, killing one of the soldiers almost instantly and wounding another.

Dex lifted the soldier's feet off of the ground, but he kept a firm grip on Dex's neck, preventing him from being tossed. He tried to regain control of the knife as he squeezed Dex's neck even more.
