Sonic: The Apocalypse

Dex

I lean on a wall in the hallway thinking.

A Vortex guard was standing in the watch tower. He saw a glint coming from inside a group of trees. He pulled out his goggles and looked at the glint, "What the-" he fell backwards as a bullet pierced his head, splattering blood all over the room.
Several more silenced sniper shots were heard as the other tower guards fell to the floors of their own towers.
Four small armies rushed towards the refuge center on each side, staying out of sight. One group rushed into the barracks, gunning down anyone in sight. The next group busted into the garage. The last two groups approached the main building, one approaching from the front and going through the front door, the last one planting a bomb at the back, blowing down the wall and barging in, killing the soldiers who were right there. They were working their way towards eachothers, preventing anyone from escaping.

(The hospital and dormitories are both in the main building)

Kath sensed this. She perked up from where she was sitting, her ears twitching like radars. Klarc, with his advanced hearing, could've sworn he could hear... things. He stood up, walking toward the door to see what was going on.
"'S goin' on?"

Dex

As I leaned on the wall I pick up something. "What was that..?" I push myself off it and then hear what sound like a small explosion. "Oh god no!" I run towards the main doors.

King looked towards the source of the sound. He pulled out his walkie-talkie, "What was that?! Report, now!" Only static answered, "Shoot!" King looked towards Klarc, "You got a weapon?" He asked, holding out a pistol towards him as he started to pull his assault rifle off of his back.

(Man, 3 characters that start with a K lol)

"Yeah." He grabbed his bag, putting it on over his back and going out of the room to King. "What's goin' on?"

Dex

I slam my way out through the front doors and come to a halt swearing. "What the hell?!"

Several troops hid behind cover and opened fire on Dex as he barged in.

"We're getting attacked! Stay with me!" King yelled as he started running towards the origin of the explosion. He heard gunfire followed by screams coming from their destination.

(In you mean out?)

Dex

I curse and backflip and crouch down behind part of a crumbling wall. "What the hell is going on here?!" I lean around the corner looking around.

Klarc stayed close to King, sprinting as fast as he could. He whipped his revolver out, remembering from the last encounter that he had another 6 spare bullets to the current 6 he had. He did a check to confirm his memory was right, although if it turned into a close-quarters battle then he'd be at home with his combat skills. The whole time, his eyes were darting around, checking for any openings or sneaky enemies that might've taken a couple of cheap shots.

A couple bullets hit wall next to Dex's head, while others flew just inches by him.

King pressed himself against the wall and inched his head around the corner to see what was going on. All of the doors to the soldiers' rooms were open. "This is either good or very bad.."

Dex

"Oh you want to play rough do you..?!" I stand up and hurl a ball of energy at the shooters.

Klarc pulled out his knife by the blade once he too had his back pressed against the wall, flipping it once so that he could have his grip on the handle. He kept his ears focused on what was going on around the corner, rather than listening in to what King might say or do next. His eyes stared at the wall opposite, looking for any shadows. his free hand was pressed against the wall, feeling any vibrations. If he was a dog, he would've even been using his smell to try and precisely locate the enemy. It was second-nature to him.

Kath could sense some harsh hostility... she really, really wanted to step in. But she was afraid of something. But not even she knew what she was really afraid of.

The soldiers rolled out of the way of the ball energy. The energy ball hit one fox in the leg and he yelped in pain as he fell to the floor. The soldiers opened fire upon Dex again as soon as they finished their rolls.

King looked at Klarc and put his finger to his lips in a shushing gesture. He turned around the corner and started inching down the hallway, his gun aimed and ready to fire and his steps slow and steady. He made as little sound as he possibly could.

Klarc shadowed King, almost literally. He too made no noise at all, going as far as slowing his breathing down so that he almost wasn't breathing. His footsteps were also calculated and careful, looking down the odd few steps to check for anything that might've made noise had it been tapped or knocked over.
"..."

Dex

I ducked back down and smirked. "This should be interesting.." I suddenly teleported away and reappeared behind one of the soldiers aiming a chop at the back of their neck.

(Sorry, forgot about this one. I'll make some new posts either later tonight or tomorrow afternoon, been out all day and now going to hang out with some other friends, and I might just end up crashing once I get back)

"Look out!" One of the other soldiers yelled to his comrade before charging towards Dex, swinging the butt of his rifle upwards, towards Dex's chin.

King reached the first door and peered inside. It seemed to be empty with no signs of a struggle. Gunshots were heard echoing down the corridor. King looked back at Klarc before quietly running towards the end of the hallway.

Dex

I ducked down and aimed an strike at the persons gut with my elbow. Then it that worked I'd follow it up with a smack to the face with the back of my fist.

Klarc was looking down the hallway the whole time... He saw King run off and trailed behind him. He kept his ears perked, tuning them in... how many guns were being fired? Where were they being fired from further down the corridor?
"Got yur' tail." Klarc said to King, covering him in case anyone came round from behind.

The soldier let out a gasp as he bent over, Dex's elbow sinking into his gut. "Ugh!" He groaned as Dex's fist hit him in the face, sending him to the ground onto his stomach. "Open fire!" The commander yelled as they started shooting at Dex.

King nodded a thanks to Klarc before peeking around the edge of the corridor. He heard gunfire and saw a Vortex soldier's head explode, sending blood and gray matter onto the already bloody corridor. King turned away from the corridor and bent over, gagging.

Dex

I growled and began to flit, moving quickly avoiding the gunfire, but getting closer to them as I stuck out with various strikes.

Klarc ran past him like the fatality was nothing at all to him, running further down the corridor and preparing himself for whatever the heck would be round the corner... which he wouldn't be greeting with open arms.

Dex knocked several soldiers down before one of them took Dex by surprise and smashed the butt of his rifle down into Dex's head, sending him to the ground on his back.  (Sorry, I hate doing this, but they're heavily trained and that won't show if Dex kills them all without breaking a sweat.)

King took a second to recover before running after Klarc.  He saw something sticking out from the corner of the corridor and yelled out a warning to Klarc, but he was too late.  The sound of gunfire filled the hallway as bright flashes of light came from beside the corridor.  King dove to the floor, just barely dodging the hail of gunfire, but he wasn't sure how Klarc fared against the attack.
