Sonic: The Apocalypse

"I don't know.." King said. The medic and another soldier came out, carrying the girl on a stretcher, and King started following them towards the transport.

Dex

I followed them on the alert looking around everywhere.

They quickly reached the transport and placed the girl inside. "You two," King looked at the medic and soldier, "stay here and guard the transport. Dex and I are going for the rest of the group. Squads 3 and 5 haven't called in yet." King motioned for Dex to follow him as he started running back towards the group of buildings, looking for other Vortex Soldiers.

Dex

As I followed I glanced back. "Do you think those two can handle a Dark Being if it is them? Should I make some "backup" ?"

"Yeah, good idea." King nodded. Shouting could be heard in the distance. King glanced at Dex before taking off towards the sounds.

Dex

I nodded and suddenly a large group of my soldiers was with us. About twenty in total. "Ten head to the transport the other ten with us!"

King rounded the corner of a building and saw three Vortex Soldiers pinned down behind a wall with several Dark Beings attacking them from outside. King used the wall as cover and started firing on the Dark Beings, quickly taking down one of them and wounding another.

Dex

"Take positions!" My soldiers took cover behind the wall and began to rain down a barrage of fire on the Dark Beings. I threw numerous balls of energy.

The Dark Beings were quickly brought down from the gunfire and energy balls, but not before killing two of Dex's soldiers and wounding one of the Vortex Soldiers. King ran over to the wall the soldiers were at.
"Bring him back to the transport, we'll look for the others."
The soldiers nodded before carrying the wounded soldier towards the transport.
King approached the dead Dark Beings as the dark ooze started to seep into the ground. King gasped as he saw the dark ooze seeping into the ground, leaving behind the corpses of Mobians in their places.
"The Dark Beings.. Are captured Mobians.." King gasped.

Dex

I sighed walking over to King. "What" I stopped seeing the Mobians on the ground and kneeled down by them. "What the hell is Sauron doing.." My soldiers left to the transport to give cover.

"Whatever it is, it can't be good.." King said, looking around. "Everybody sound in with your status," King said into his communicator. A couple groups replied stating that they were at the transport, one stated that they were on the way, but that still left another group that was unaccounted for.
"Let's keep looking," King said to Dex, starting to walk past some more buildings.

Dex

I followed thinking. "So he's controlling people with that ooze and turning them into an army.. great."

King saw a group of Vortex Soldiers on the ground. "Shoot!" He ran over to them and knelt down beside them. He didn't even have to check their pulses to see that they were dead. One of them had his throat slit, another had a blade-shaped hole through his head, which was oozing out blood and grey matter, and the third had a large hole in his chest, singed on the edges. King let out a loud roar.

(It's the first group that was attacked by Dark Beings)

Dex

I shook my head walking over to him placing a hand on his shoulder. "Sauron won't get away with this King.."

"You're stinkin' right he won't! I'm gonna kill him!" King yelled, standing to his feet.
"Sir," King's communicator crackled, "We see some Dark Beings in the distance, we gotta leave her ASAP." King looked at Dex before shooting off towards the transport, readying his gun.

Dex

I ran after him. "Those things won't be killing anymore today!"

King and Dex reached the transport just in time to see the Dark Beings rush towards the transport, which was surrounded with Vortex Soldiers. An all out war was starting, gunfire and dark energy beams were flying towards the two groups while the transport vehicle started to drive away towards cover.

Dex

I suddenly teleported in front of the group of Vortex soldiers. "Get behind me!" I swung my arm in an arc shape creating a large shield like construct in front of us.

King ran forwards, through the shield, stopping beside Dex and firing at the Dark Beings. The Dark Beings fired back, the energy beams slamming into the shield.

Dex

I began to form a dome force field around us. My soldiers rose their guns and fired.

The army quickly riddled two of the Dark Beings with bullets, dark ooze and blood pouring out of the wounds as they fell to the ground. The Dark Beings created their own dark energy dome around themselves. They all started charging up a massive energy beam.

Dex

"You may want to get down.. I don't know how much this can take or how much damage those beam can do.." I made two smaller walls in front of the dome and then began to charge up my own attack.

King looked around at the Vortex Soldiers, "RPGs?!"
"On the transport, sir."
"Shoot!" He turned to Dex, "Grab them."

One of the Dark Beings noticed that the transport was getting away and fired an energy beam at it. The beam crashed into the transport, sending it crashing onto its side.

Dex

I spun around. "Hang tight!" I teleported off by and by the transport just as it was hit. I swore and watch it spin onto it's side. "Dammit!" I rushed forwards and then wrenched one of the doors open.

The RPGs were near the back of the transport. Inside there was also another wounded Vortex Soldier and Kathli.

The Dark Beings fired off the massive energy beam at the dome, breaking through the two small walls and "cracking" the dome. They started charging up another energy beam.
