Sonic: The Apocalypse

".. What do you mean..?" King asked, taking a slight step back and putting his hand on his gun, thinking that Dex was talking about experimenting on people to make soldiers.

Dex

My eyes suddenly fell on his hand and frowned. "Well that's hardly called for.." I clicked my fingers and a light soldier suddenly appeared next to me.

"Whoa! Now that is neat! I've seen some stuff before but definitely nothing like that!"

Dex

I grinned. "Neat trick huh? Handy having a army."

"Very neat! Is there a limit to how many you can make?" King asked.

Dex

I shook my head thinking. "I've never tried really. I have a few hundred at my base."

"Wow! That's impressive!" King grinned, "You're like a walking army!"

Dex

I laughed. "True.. although to many may kill me or weaken me.."

"Oh, ok. That's pretty impressive, though."

Dex

I smiled. "Thanks.

King pulled out his radio communicator. "Horus, prepare the troops, we're going on a search and rescue mission."
"Yes, sir."
King looked back at Dex, "I'm going to check on the civilians while they get ready, do you want to join me?"

Dex

I nodded. "Sure, lead the way"

King and Dex walked over to the hospital-like building in the base. "Where are the newly arrived civilians?" King asked.
A doctor brought them to a hallway and pointed out 3 doors, "They're all in here."
"Thank you." King said before walking into the first room, seeing the black fox and grey cat from earlier. "Hello, how are you doing?"
"Fine.. Thank you.." The black fox replied.
"Where were you guys staying? My troops and I are going to go up there and see if there is anyone there."
"No! You can't go! Those things will kill you all!" The grey cat warned.
"We can handle them, we have an exceptional army," King said.
'Fine... We lived about a days walk north-east.." The black fox answered.
"Thank you. Is there anything I can get for you?"
"No, you've done plenty, thank you," the grey cat replied.

(If you want, Dan, you could have Kathlina be in one of the camps that Dex and King searches?)

Dex

I looked the civilians over and then spoke. "Can you describe what attacked you for us please?"

"They.. They looked like Mobians.. But they were a really dark color, almost black.. They didn't seem to be wearing clothes..  And they could teleport and shoot stuff out of their hands.." The black fox said.
"Definitely Dark Beings..." King mumbled under his breath.

Dex

I nodded slowly curling my hands into fists. "King how good are you men at fighting them..?"

"They're great!" King answered with a smile on his face before looking back at the two Mobians in hospital beds. "Get well soon," He said before leaving the room with Dex.

King's smile left his face the second the door closed. "Not good. They have no training against those things. They don't know how to stop them with their teleportation powers, and their dark energy attacks are devastating against our light armor."

Dex

I frowned. "Then we need train BEFORE we head out.. otherwise your men would be slaughter if we meet any."

"Yeah..." King mumbled. He pulled out his radio communicator, "Horus, make sure to train the troops a bit more before we head out. There's a chance we might encounter some Dark Beings."
"Yes, sir."

Dex

I frowned thinking. "Perhaps if they fought against someone who could teleport that could help.."

King nodded, "Yeah.. But where are we going to-.. You can teleport too, can't you?"

Dex

I looked at him and then smiled slowly then laughed. "Sure can." I teleported a few feet back.

"What can't you do?" King joked. "So you're willing to train my troops for teleportation defenses?"

Dex

"Well I can't walk through walls unfortunately" I grinned then nodded. "I am"

King smirked and started walking out of the hospital towards the base. They quickly reached the base and ran into Horus. "Dex has volunteered to help our soldiers train against teleportation, as we will most likely be running into some Dark Beings."
